Categories

Parent Categories and Sub Categories are used to organize your Questions and Tests.

Create and manage your Categories under Tests > Categories page, or create new Categories on the fly wherever you see a 'New Category' link.

Tip: Categories are particularly useful when you want to create a Test using Randomly selected Questions.

Adding Randomly selected Questions means Questions are automatically selected from specified Categories within your Question Bank. Each time the Test is taken, a different set of Questions is displayed.

How to Create and Edit Categories:

  1. Go to the Tests navigation and select 'Categories'.

  2. Select 'New Category'. You can create both Parent Categories and Sub Categories to suit your requirements.

  3. Add your Category details and select 'Submit'.

  4. Congratulations! Your Category has been added.

How to apply a Category to your Test:

  1. Go to your Tests section, expand the Test you would like to Categorize and select 'Edit'.

  2. Hover over the Test name. Then click on the Test name in order to edit the Test name and Category.

  3. Choose the Category you would like to change your Test to and select 'Update'.

  4. Congratulations! Your Test and all its Questions have been updated to the new Category.

How to apply a Category to your Questions:

  1. Go to your Tests or Question Bank section and filter to the Question you would like to Categorize.

  2. Choose the Question you would like to Categorize select 'Edit'.
    Screenshot
  3. Scroll down to the Category settings for this Question and edit as appropriatea and save your changes.

  4. Congratulations! Your Question has been updated to its new Category.
