What are Access Lists?
Access Lists allow you to manage exactly who can access your Tests taken via Links. Access Lists consist of a list of Access Codes that are created by you and can be any alphanumeric string of your choosing (for example, email addresses, student/employee IDs etc.).
Access List Features:
- Access codes can be up to 255 characters in length.
- Include up to 20,000 Access Codes per Access List.
- Duplicated Access Codes are automatically removed by the ClassMarker system.
- Access Codes are automatically remove once used.
- Select how Access Codes are displayed - alphabetically or reverse alphabetical
- Search Access codes that match text entered by 'exact match' or ''contain text'.
- Export Access Lists to keep an offline copy.
- Use the same Access List across multiple Tests or use a different Access List per each Test Link. It's entirely up to you!
- View dates when Access Codes were added.
How to create Access Lists.
Create
Add details
- Navigate to the Access Lists section under Links in ClassMarker and click 'New Access List'.
- Chose a name for the Access List,
- craft a custom access question,
- and input alphanumeric access codes (such as email addresses or employee IDs). These codes will be unique identifiers for each candidate.
Define when Access Codes are removed
ClassMarker provides two options for automatically removing access codes:
- Either after all allowed attempts were taken,
- or when a candidate passed the test with a set 'Passmark'. This ensured a one-time test access, maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process.
Apply an Access List
You can apply an Access List on the Settings page when creating (or editing) a Link.
- Go to the Links section and select 'Settings' for the desired test.
- Expand the 'Restrictions' setting under 'Setup', to specify how many times each access list item could be used to access the test link.

Distribute Access Codes to candidates
- Access codes can be distributed to potential candidates via email or embedded links on various platforms.
- ClassMarker will ask test-takers the Access Question you defined and only allow those with valid items to take the Test.
